Welcome to the EEA 2025 Scientific Council elections. You are asked to vote for EEA Vice-President and EEA Council.

Voting takes place from Monday, September 23, to Sunday, October 20.

Only EEA members with active memberships can vote. Each member can submit 1 ballot sheet.

Lucia Corno

Lucia Corno is associate professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Cattolica University, Milan. She is co-founder and Executive Director of the Laboratory for Effective Antipoverty Policies (LEAP) at Bocconi University. She is also affiliated with J-PAL, a fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and executive committee member of the EUDN (European Development Research Network). 

Most of her research focuses on understanding constraints for economic development in low income countries, focusing in particular on the role of social norms.  Her work has been published in leading economic journals, including the American Economic Review and Econometrica. Lucia received a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University in 2009. Before joining Cattolica, she held was post-doc at University College London and assistant professor at Queen Mary University. In 2019 professor Corno received an ERC Starting Grant to study the reasons behind the persistence of harmful traditions (i.e. female genital cutting). She constantly collaborates with International Organizations and governments in developing countries and in Italy to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of anti-poverty policies.
