Economics Undergraduate Degrees

In summer 2022, the EEA Education Committee ran an extensive survey to find out how undergraduate economics degrees across Europe compare, both in terms of what is taught and how it is taught. We identified opportunities and challenges that academics face designing economics modules and degree programmes, including consideration of constraints from government policies.

The survey results, along with related discussions in our October 2022 workshop, have been written up to help all those involved with delivery of economics education to understand the current state of play for undergraduates studying economics across Europe.

You can find a summary of the results and a more detailed slide pack at the bottom of this page.

We encourage you to discuss the findings with colleagues and students in your own institution and to continue to engage with the Education Committee as we explore ways to connect the community of educators across Europe.

Thanks to all those who completed the survey and to those who contributed to deeper discussion in our workshop. This is an important step in our development of the education activities of the EEA.
