Inclusion Initiatives Virtual Workshop

The workshop will be held on September 13, 2024, 13:30-16:30 CEST.

The workshop is open at no charge to all members of universities (academics/professional staff/graduate students) and academic associations. The workshop’s aim is to share best practice inclusion initiatives among European departments and inform about recent research on diversity and inclusion in the Economics academic profession

It will consist of two sessions:

13:30-15:00: Presentations of inclusion initiatives. Representatives (from LSE, EUI, UCL, Bocconi, the RES and the University of Macedonia) will present initiatives that include, among others, conducting and disseminating research on diversity, technological innovations to improve student-faculty dialogue, improving access to underrepresented groups in undergraduate admission, active bystanders program, consciously inclusive mentoring program, and innovative data collection on departmental climate with regard to gender.

15:00-15:15 Break

15:15-16:30 Panel presentations and Q&A on Advances in Research on Inclusion and Diversity, with representatives from the EEA, Royal Economic Society and COSME (Spanish Economic Association). The panel will share new research on “Who studies Economics”, “Women in Economics” and the results from the recent EEA climate survey.
