Call for EEA Executive Vice-President

Antonio Cabrales's third 3-year term as Executive Vice-President of the EEA expires in June 2025. We open a call to EEA members for his successor.
 
The role of the EEA Executive Vice-President (EVP) is multifold. Not only does the EVP act as an official administrator of the EEA, s/he also oversees and provides guidance to the Council of the EEA and the General Assembly (GA). Some common responsibilities of the EVP include:
 
  • Creating strategies and objectives and proposing them to the EEA Administrative Board, Council and GA 
  • Attending all board meetings (virtual) and congresses (in person)
  • Overseeing and evaluating the income and expenditure and proposing suggestions for increasing revenue
  • Creating and reviewing EEA budgets, balance sheets and financial reports
  • Ensuring EEA follows policies and procedures governing non-profit associations in its country of foundation (Belgium)
  • Communicating with the EEA Administrative Board, Council and GA and about factors that influence EEA's performance
  • Active fundraising, overseeing and evaluating partnerships and relationships with the institutional members and donors of the EEA

The EVP is assisted by an Executive Manager, who is also an administrator of the EEA. The EEA's Executive Manager is a full-time position. 
 
Around 300 hours per year is dedicated to the role of EVP. The role is compensated. The EEA looks for somebody who can commit to at least 2 3-year terms.
